EPIC Partnership – March Update
EPIC Partnership – March Update
February has been a really great month,
here are some of our key achievements.
130 local
mums came along to a special 'EPIC Women' launch of the Victoria Leisure
Centre. The Centre and EPIC teams worked closely to plan the event and now want
to make it a regular event. The phone hasn't stopped ringing since with parents
booking in for new sessions at the Centre.
140 children
attended the Community Games holiday programme over February half term, held at
the Greenway Centre, Coppice Park and Sycamore Centre. 30 children were chosen to represent their
venue at the Community Games festival at Mapperley Sports Village.
260 people
attended the Life Event held at Blue Bell Hill on Monday, with over 25 local
providers sharing information about the services they can offer in St Ann's
& Sneinton. Trevor Rose and the musicians from the Community Recording
Studio came along to promote their music sessions. Trevor has come back to us
to say what a great response he has had from children and young people who want
to get involved.
Capital One's Marketing
Team are
adopting EPIC's Attendance Improvement Project this year. The team will be
fundraising for attendance rewards and helping to develop marketing materials.
The project was created by local primary Headteachers and has already seen an increase in attendance across St Ann's &
Sneinton.
Rosehill Special School
have undertaken an inset day led by the
EPIC team. In partnership with Nottingham Ice Centre and Dave Hourd (coach),
Rosehill staff undertook Fundamental
Movement Skills and Athletics
including curriculum planning themed
around the Olympics. Staff have already given some
positive feedback on the day 'All of the games you have shown me today will
work really well with the children in my class'.
